Changing the Language Settings

Rezi lets you change the language of the platform and your resumes, making it easier to build job applications for employers in over 100 countries. Whether you want to use Spanish, French, Hindi, British English, or another supported language, you can update your language preferences through your account settings or when creating or editing a resume.

But before you switch languages, make sure you’re choosing one that matches your actual language skills or the employer’s requirements. For example, if you’re applying for a role in the UK, going with British English instead of American English can show attention to detail (like programme instead of program). 

Just remember that there’s more than just language differences when applying internationally. You should also tweak details like your education section so recruiters can easily understand your qualifications.

​​How to Change the Language Settings

Here’s a quick overview of how to change the language settings with Rezi: 

• Sign in to your Rezi account by clicking Login in the top-right corner of the Rezi website, then enter with your email and password or your Google account.
• Head to your account settings by selecting your profile icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard and choosing Account from the drop-down menu.
• Adjust the language in your account settings by selecting your preferred language, such as English, Spanish, French, Hindi, or German.
• Change the language in your dashboard when creating or editing a resume to customize the AI features and resume analysis tools for that specific resume.

Let’s go through it step-by-step. 

1. Sign in to your Rezi account

Start by logging into your Rezi account. Head to Rezi and click Login in the top-right corner. Then, sign in with your email and password or use your Google account if that’s how you usually access Rezi.

2. Head to your account settings

After you sign in, Rezi will take you to your dashboard. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Account from the drop-down menu to open your account settings.

3. Adjust the language in your account settings

You’ll find the language settings at the top of the Account page. Simply choose your preferred language from the available options, and Rezi will update the web app to use that language.

You can currently choose from:

• English (US)
• English (GB)
• Spanish
• French
• French (Canadian)
• Hindi
• Korean
• German
• Portuguese

Once you make your choice, just continue using the Rezi web app in your chosen language.

Don’t see the language you want? Just head to our features request page and submit the language you’d like us to add to the list. You can also make other requests or suggestions that you’d like us to consider for the Rezi app. 

4. Change the language in your dashboard

You can also choose a language when editing or creating a resume.

If you’re starting a new resume:

• Go to your dashboard and click Create New Resume.
• Choose whether you want to start from scratch, upload an existing resume, import your details from LinkedIn, or create one with the AI Resume Agent.
• Complete the short setup form before entering the resume builder.
• Select your preferred language in the setup form. Rezi will use this language for AI features and resume analysis throughout the resume-building process.

If you’re updating an existing resume:

• Open your dashboard and find the resume you want to edit.
• Hover over the resume and click the gear icon, or open the three-dot menu and select Edit.
• Update the language on that resume whenever you need to.

Will changing the language affect your resume content?

Changing the language setting doesn’t automatically translate the text that’s already on your resume. Instead, it changes the language used for Rezi’s AI features and resume analysis for that resume, or the language used throughout the web app if you update your account settings.

Should you translate your resume if you don’t speak the language fluently?

In most cases, no. It’s best to write your resume in a language you’re comfortable using, especially if you’ll need to interview in that language later. Only submit a translated resume if you’re confident in your language skills or the employer specifically requests a resume in another language and understands your level of proficiency.

How do you know which language to choose for an international job?

Start by checking the job description and the employer’s application requirements. If the company asks for applications in a specific language, use that language. If no preference is listed, consider the language you’ll likely use on the job. You should also adapt other parts of your resume, such as your education section, to match local conventions and make your qualifications easier for recruiters to understand.
