Deleting Your Account

So, you want to delete your account. But since this is a permanent action, let me make one last case for keeping it (hear me out). 

A resume isn’t something you build once and forget about. It’s way easier to update it as you gain new skills, promotions, certifications, or accomplishments than it is to rebuild everything from memory a few years later.

How to Delete Your Account

Here’s a quick rundown of how to delete your Rezi account: 

• Log in to Rezi by signing in with your Google account or requesting a magic sign-in link via email, then click the link in your inbox to access your dashboard.
• Open your account settings by clicking your profile icon in the top-right corner, selecting Account, and scrolling to the bottom of the page to find the Delete Account option.
• Delete your account after saving anything you want to keep, then confirm the deletion to permanently remove your account, resumes, documents, and all associated data.

1. Log in to your Rezi account

The first step is to sign in to your Rezi account. Here’s what you need to do: 

• Visit Rezi and click Login.
• Sign in with your Google account, or enter your email address to get a magic sign-in link.
• If you use the magic link option, simply check your inbox and click the link to access your account. There’s no password to remember or reset.

2. Open your account settings

Once you’re in, Rezi will take you to your dashboard, where you’ll find all your resumes.

From there, click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Account from the drop-down menu. This opens your account settings, where you’ll find the Delete Account option at the bottom of the page.

3. Delete your account

Before you click Delete Account, take one last look through your dashboard to make sure you’ve saved anything you might want later. Once you delete your account, Rezi permanently removes all your data, every resume, and all your documents.

When you’re ready, click Delete Account. A confirmation pop-up will appear as a final reminder that you won’t be able to undo this action. If you’re sure, confirm the deletion.

Rezi will then sign you out and take you back to the login page. At that point, Rezi will have permanently deleted your account and all associated data.

Can you temporarily deactivate your Rezi account instead of deleting it?

No, Rezi doesn’t currently offer an option to temporarily deactivate or pause your account. If you’re taking a break from job searching, it may be worth keeping your account. That way, you can update your resume over time, use Rezi’s job search tools, and pick up right where you left off whenever you’re ready to start applying again.

Can you use the same email address if you create a new account later?

Yes. If you decide to return to Rezi after deleting your account, you can create a new account using the same email address. Just remember that your previous account and its data won’t come back with it. You’ll be starting with a fresh account, so it’s a good idea to keep copies of any resumes or documents you might want to reuse in the future.
