Ms. Helena Chang
My name is XYZ and I am pleased to apply for the Aerospace Engineer Intern position at NASA. I have spoken with several members of NASA’s Aerospace Engineering team and was each time impressed by their acuity and passion for aerospace engineering and space flight. I’ve developed a strong interest in providing incredible service to clients on the cutting-edge of space exploration and have in-depth experience doing so.
My interest in Aerospace Engineering and Aviation developed during an internship at Company A where my duties forced me to learn and apply proper analysis and accounting procedures in order to organize and grow the company’s complex business pipeline. During this time, I conducted finite element analysis on the primary boom, wing adaptor, and pilot fairing based on expected loads from aerodynamics, weight, and friction to create an adjustable wing adapter for Human-powered aircraft. This provided me with a strong understanding of practical finite element analysis concepts. Over the course of the position, I also worked with the manufacturing team to create carbon fiber for the bottom of the fairing that reduced power losses from drag to less than 100 watts at a point. This was an invaluable learning experience. My accounting and time management skills will be instrumental to my success at NASA.
I am extremely excited to work at NASA because it represents the pinnacle of aeronautical engineering. I am interested in furthering the state-of-the-art in aerospace engineering and developing new aircraft technologies that will be used to explore the solar system and beyond. I am excited to work with NASA as it continues to develop new technologies for cleaner, more efficient aircraft and explore new frontiers beyond Earth.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to discussing this position further.
Sincerely,
Charles Bloomberg
