Key Moments and Milestones in 2024

2024 was a rollercoaster of wins and lessons that kept us on our toes.

From celebrating an all-time high in users to launching new features, this year was all about breaking barriers and reaching new heights.

Below, we’ve compiled the most memorable moments that defined Rezi’s year. Think of it as the greatest hits album of 2024 for Rezi—each event and milestone tells the story of our growth, innovation, and the incredible support from our community.

Q1 2024

Firstly, we got the Rezi team photos on lock in January 📷

Interestingly, here are the top job titles of Rezi users of January 2024

Rezi's ARR jumped from $1,986,807 to $2,249,233 in just one month—the highest growth we've ever achieved in a single month!

In February 2024, we crossed 2,000,000 users.

In the same month of February, we shared a Reddit user’s Rezi review on LinkedIn

“Firstly, the UI is a breeze. It's real fun to use, and what I like most is the fact that the application divides your resume into different sections, and you get to work on each section at a time. Psychologically, this helps you alleviate anxiety and just work on one thing at a time.”

We had another Reddit user’s Rezi review to share:

“I've been looking for a change of jobs for almost a year. Got a few calls, but nothing [that] I wanted. Updated my CV through Rezi, the second call I got was from an MNC and something I was looking forward to. And here I am, completing my second month at the new place.”

March brought on more positive feedback with this Rezi review from Reddit

“For some reason, I struggled a lot with choosing a format for my resume, and then managing that format when I wanted to make updates. With Rezi, I was able to simply input data, check out the preview, and know that it will be formatted correctly when I export the resume to Word. Rezi made it super easy to refine and iterate on my resume. There are a lot of options for resume writing, and if you are reading this on the fence about whether to try Rezi, just do it.”

We also added a little friendly competition with a Rezi chess tournament ♟️

After two years of patience and determination, we officially opened the doors to our new Rezi headquarters.

Additionally, our CEO and founder, Jacob Jacquet, had some words of advice to share on LinkedIn:

“I wanted to speak on something I've learned from leading a startup, Rezi, for the past 9+ years—it's all about believing in your own ideas and not being afraid to
follow through. Innovation isn't about just tagging along with whatever's popular or copying what's already out there. It's about being bold enough to walk your own path, based on your own unique ideas. So, let's make it our mission to back each other up in trusting our instincts and bringing our ideas to life. It's not just a nice-to-have—it's a must. It's how we stand out, challenge the usual, and build something truly special. Once we get that this mindset is key for innovation and achieving our goals, there's no telling what we can do.”

Here’s another Rezi success story from Reddit we had to share:

“This is a game-changer for anyone serious about crafting a 'faster' and exceptional resume. The website is user-friendly and the extensive features have always set Rezi apart from other online tools. Rezi has become an indispensable tool in my job search arsenal. It's helped me craft impressive resumes that have undoubtedly contributed to my success in landing interview calls. If you're serious about standing out in today's competitive job market with creating multiple resumes catering for each job description, Rezi is a must-have resource.”

To wrap up the first quarter of the year, we teased the first look at Rezi Dark Mode—modern, polished, and built for job seekers who prefer a darker theme.

Q2 2024

Let’s begin this quarter with an inspirational Rezi user success story. After all, Rezi is nothing if we can't help job seekers make a noticeable difference in their job search.

“I started applying for jobs in Nov 2023 for the first time in over 6 years [last time looking for a position in 2018]. After a couple of months applying to positions that I was well qualified for with no success, I realized I had to change the way I was tailoring my resume. I came across Rezi and what a huge difference! I was able to tailor my resume more efficiently and effectively to each position I was interested in. Overall a game changer and before I knew it I had multiple call backs and had two job offers that I was able to choose from. Helped me land my dream job after 2 months of using!”

Additionally, we uncovered a few interesting insights from our LinkedIn polls:

Some advice from our CEO about passion:

“Let your passions lead the way. Choosing a career that truly excites you might seem like a riskier path, but it's also more rewarding. If you're at a crossroads, unsure of which path to take, my advice is to follow what genuinely gets you fired up. Yes, it will be challenging, and yes, there will be days when you wonder if you made the right choice. But the fulfillment you can achieve by aligning your career with your passions are unmatched. It’s not just about the financial rewards; it's about the journey, the lessons learned, and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a difference.”

Time for another Rezi success story from Reddit

“I decided to give Rezi a try and was highly impressed. I was able to put together an ATS-compliant resume within an hour, which includes updating the [actual] content. I opted to just copy/paste from my previous resume instead of importing. Formatting is great. The platform is simple, easy to use, and highly effective. My Rezi score is sitting around a 98 and I’m noticing it’s being parsed much better than previous resumes I’ve created. Great job team and look forward to future updates!”

May was the month when we worked on giving Rezi an updated look with a refactored UI, plus a new keyword tool.

In May, Rezi was the 5th highest earning open startup on Indie Hackers.

We love and celebrate all success stories that come our way, and this one from Reddit shows how Rezi is helping recent college graduates:

Recent college graduate here with decent work experience. I had a resume that landed me a internship but looking at it now seems very meh. I inputed everything into Rezi and had it basically spruce up my resume a bit and I absolutely love it! Apart from the AI portion of it, it does a really nice job formatting and is super easy and convenient to use. I was able to reformat my whole resume in like 30 min. Very much recommend even on the basic plan for a restructure to pdf.

On a warm and sunny day in Seoul, Rezi turned 9. To mark the occasion, our team came together to celebrate ☀️

May also marked the launch of Rezi dark mode 🌃

In June, we had a few more interesting polls:

Another piece of advice shared on LinkedIn by our CEO

“Set yourself up for failure. Not only will you learn faster. You’ll grow quicker. The path to success isn’t about avoiding mistakes, it’s about learning from them and moving forward. When you fail—iterate fast. Avoid long development cycles. Start with a minimum viable product, get feedback, and improve. Quick iterations keep you aligned with what customers really want. Experiment with failure. Try new things all the time. Whether it’s a product feature, marketing tactic, or a process tweak, test it out. Learn from what works and what doesn’t. Move on. And if all else fails, at least you’ll have some great stories.”

Also, we released an experimental feature: ATS Hack Mode

Shortly after, the next product update followed—a new way to organize documents in your Rezi dashboard.

To top things off, a few of us from Team Rezi enjoyed a relaxing cruise on the Han River in Seoul 🛥

Q3 2024

To kick things off this quarter, we’ll take a look at the updated Rezi resume score:

Our CEO and founder, Jacob Jacquet, also shed some light behind operating a $2.5M+ ARR SaaS.

Interestingly, 33% of the top 10 search engine results for “AI resume builder” were Rezi.

Next, our CEO had some words to say about finding work-life balance

“One minute we’re glorifying the hustle; the next, self-care. Let’s agree: work-life balance is a myth. Life is messy. Work is demanding. Trying to keep them in separate boxes is impossible. And, quite frankly, a waste of time. Instead of balancing, think blending. Sometimes the work stuff takes the lead, sometimes the non-work stuff does. And that’s okay. Our lives don’t clock out. Instead of dividing your day into work time and me time, find a rhythm that fits the flow of both. Set boundaries, not barriers. Learn when to say yes, and when to say no.”

Following on, we had a successful annual Rezi retreat, which took place in Phuket, Thailand 🇹🇭

Plus, we began working on a new integration feature…

Another insight shared by our CEO when it comes to decision-making fatigue

“Not all decisions are created equal. Delegate smaller ones. Let your team handle routine matters. Trust your gut on low-stakes decisions. Save your energy for choices that truly impact your business or personal growth. Create decision-making protocols. Set criteria for recurring decisions—like fixed budgets for marketing experiments or key metrics for hiring. Consistency reduces mental effort. Batch similar decisions to minimize context-switching. If you have multiple reports to review, do it in one session. Limit your options. When buying software or selecting vendors, narrow it down to three credible options. Indecision is a decision in itself. It leads to missed opportunities and bigger issues. Make the call, assess the outcome, and iterate.”

It’s common towards the end of this quarter to reconsider your current role. If you’re unsure about whether to stay or leave your job, we made this quick quiz on LinkedIn to help you find out if it’s time for a change.

We had another user review from Reddit to share

“Rezi is awesome. It gets tedious having to change your resume for every job, but Rezi is a game changer. I'm seriously impressed with how detailed the real time content analysis is, it feels like a coach guiding you along, and constantly telling you what needs improvement. I've been looking for work for quite some time but I feel much more confident and motivated to apply for jobs with Rezi. If you're like me and struggle with tweaking your resume and constantly worrying if typos exist or if it'll pass the ATS, just get Rezi. You'll be at ease and will save a lot of time and energy.”

To wrap up Q3, Rezi was featured on Forbes and recommended as the #1 resume builder to try in 2024.

Q4 2024

Our CEO hosted an exclusive offline event, delivering insights on building a $50M AI consumer SaaS from $0.

We also shared a glimpse of a potential Rezi website update…

Here’s another user review from Reddit

“Really excellent, interview scheduled after 3 days! I have been looking for a new position for quite some time and seeing abysmal results. As in 0 positive responses to over 100 applications. Heard that this indicates a bad resume so I did some research, found Rezi, and remade my resume with some changes (things I wanted to add and things that Rezi recommended in order to raise my score). I started using the new resume THREE days ago and already scored my first interview in an eternity. Just a huge thank you to the Rezi team, you are simply the best and your tool is awesome.”

Additionally, we released a short quiz on whether you should be worried about getting fired

Next, we launched a custom URL feature, making it easy to share your Rezi resume online.

We also worked on making our resume builder a tad bit smarter by building a “Company Detail Field Added” feature.

Goal setting usually becomes a hot topic as we get closer to the end of the year and start thinking about New Year’s resolutions.

With that in mind, our CEO shared some practical advice when it comes to setting goals:

Setting realistic goals is less about the target itself and more about managing the chaos in-between. First, let’s strip away the fluff around “realistic.” It’s not about toeing the line between ambition and apathy. It’s mapping your way from point A to point “I want to rule the world,” only slightly less extravagant. Start with big dreams, but chop them down to size. Micro-goals are your sanity’s best friends. The question of "why?" is your compass. If your goal doesn’t answer that, it might just be a fancy distraction. Adjust timelines, redefine success—make Plan B your new Plan A’s backup. Celebrate milestones, or at least acknowledge them briefly before the next crisis hits. And a reality check: not every goal needs to change the world. Some can just make your coffee taste better or half an hour on the treadmill feel less like a life sentence.”

On that note, one of your goals might involve making a career change. If that’s you, we put together a short career change quiz to help you determine if it’s a good idea.

One of our most requested features is finally here: a refactored top navigation bar.

November was also the month Rezi crossed 3 million users.

To celebrate the 3 million user milestone, we decided to take our teamwork from the office to the ice!

Coming soon: the Rezi take on the popular Harvard resume format 👀

Around the middle of December, our CEO spoke at another event in Seoul.

As the year comes to a close, a significant UX update is on the way!
